Hooloovoo Events

On 16th November we had our Christmas Essentials Evening Event. 

Sarah Morgan, Image Consultant, talked to us about how to make the best of ourselves through colour and clothes and our own stylists demonstrated on how to use straighteners and put hair up for the Christmas festivities.  And Becky and Lucy showed how to create that Christmas make-up look.  We also had Christmas nibble tastings, mince pies and chocolates by Chocoholics. Again, it was really well attended and a very pleasant evening seemed to be had by all.

Our next Evening will be in the New Year and we're looking at how you can look good and feel great when you're over 55 (which I'll need to attend myself!).  Please contact  the salon or come to this website for further details nearer the time.  We'll keep you posted.

 

Team News

We've had some great staff additions over the past few months in the shape of our 2 trainees, Layla and Lucy who joined earlier in the summer.  They've settled in very well and have melded into an essential part of the team. 

We've grown into an excellent team of which I am justifiably proud. They work and socialise very closely together and enjoy each other's company.

On December 21st we all went to see The Nimmo Twins at The Playhouse - which was hilarious - and a meal at St Benedict's Restaurant beforehand.  It was a great evening and partners came as well, so we all enjoyed a really christmassy, festive time.

In the Spring we all spent a Sunday on the Broads together, chugging down the River Bure.  Hairdressers and boats are not the best combination but we successfully averted some near disasters.... and the weather was very fine and we shared a generous picnic and even more generous bottles of wine.  The pictures of the day will certainly give them away!!

All our staff went to the Salon International Hairdressing Event in London in the autumn, which they thoroughly enjoyed as it gave them the chance to see the latest collections from some of the industry's finest creative and most famous hairdressers and technicians. With seminars, workshops and live shows and the very latest products they brought much knowledge and excitement back to Hooloovoo and Norwich. 

We're continuing our commitment to staff education and training and Kate has completed a L'Oreal management course and Kerry has had her L'Oreal colour keys training whilst Becky is due to attend a customer relations course in the New Year.  Layla is galloping on fast and will be doing some L'Oreal training in London this year.  Lucy isn't far behind her and is doing really well at college.

We've had some updated photo shoots of the team which we'll be adding to this site in the next couple of weeks so you can get to know us and what we do.  Some people are shy of visiting hairdressers, especially a new one, but I think it really helps calm the nerves if you can get a real idea of the salon and, more importantly, the staff.  All our staff are extremely talented as well as being very approachable, even though I say so myself!

Hooloovoo News

We've had a very successful, if exhausting, second year and are growing by the month. When we first tentatively, but with optimism, opened Hooloovoo's door just over 2 years ago, we had no customers but hard work, dedication and a real team spirit has paid off incredibly well.  The incredble fact is the huge number of new customers who come to us simply by word of mouth and friends recommendations!

Some days I walk into the salon and it staggers me at how far we've come and how many faces and names I recognise.  And I must thank both my staff and our clients for sticking with us and believing in us.
