Training at Hooloovoo

At Hooloovoo pride ourselves for our excellence in the education of all our Team, training to our own Hooloovoo standard. We aim our training not just at our unqualified trainees but continuously and consistently believe that all our staff should have on-going learning and knowledge improvement through evening sessions within the Salon and through the L’Oreal, GHD and TIGI academies.

Training Nights at Hooloovoo

Hooloovoo holds a weekly training night for all our Trainees and Post Graduates and monthly training sessions for all our Stylists. Our Trainee training scheme is very structured with a qualified Trainer supervising, teaching and mentoring. The Trainees have a brief on what sort of model they are to bring into training night, dependant on what stage of learning they are. For these evenings we need models and hair cuts and blow drys are free and colours are half the price of the Post Graduate prices. This just covers the cost of the very high quality products we use. If you would like to be a model, please call and ask to speak to a Trainee and talk to them about your hair – is it long, short, coloured, bleached, curly, straight? - and we’ll add you to our models list and let you know when we need you.

Post Graduate Training

Our Post Graduate scheme is designed for stylists who have qualified as hairdressers, but need the confidence and hands-on, in salon experience before going properly onto the shop floor. They charge a completely different price to the normal Hooloovoo price list, which we fix accordingly. This removes their fear of being thrown straight in the at deep end and gives them a chance to build up their own client base. It very much depends on the development and the confidence of a Post Graduate Stylist on how long they will remain one. Once they feel they are ready they have to take an exhaustive range of exams, called ‘a pre-floor’ and only if they pass to the satisfaction of our Trainers are they allowed to join the Salon as a fully fledged Stylist
Our Post Graduates are always looking for clients so they can improve their skills, so please book in one of them.

We can assure you that although they are Trainees and Post Graduates your hair will still be in the hands of the professionals beside them who monitor their progress and standard of work.
